Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You

Sasaki is forty-five, a worn-out office worker crushed by endless overtime and a job that never gives anything back. His only small comforts are his cigarettes and the warm smile of Yamada, the cashier at the supermarket near his home. One night, after an especially rough day, she isn't at her register. Instead, while smoking in the cramped little spot behind the store, he meets Tayama, a striking young woman in a leather jacket who is calm, a little teasing and happy to share a smoke with him. Night after night, between cigarettes and small talk about work and life, the two build an unexpected bond in that hidden corner, while Sasaki never suspects that his new smoking buddy is closer to him than he thinks. A gentle, funny and heartwarming romance about two adults finding a moment of rest together.
