DMCA Policy / Content removal

Last updated: October 21, 2026

CapybaraTranslator respects intellectual property rights. We are a platform that provides infrastructure to independent translation communities (Scans): the content is published by those communities and all rights to the works belong to their authors and rights holders. We handle infringement notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and applicable copyright law.

This policy covers our three sites: capibaratraductor.com, capybaratranslator.com and capivaratradutor.com.

Revenue covers infrastructure (servers, storage, AI) and support for translation communities.

1. How to notify us

The fastest way is the form on this page. You can also email [email protected] with the subject "DMCA". The notice must include:

  • The copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
  • The URLs of the content on our sites (the work page is enough).
  • Your contact details: name, company if any, and email.
  • A good faith statement that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on its behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature (on the form, your typed name).

2. What we do

  • We confirm receipt by email with a case number.
  • We remove the applicable content within 48 hours at most: the whole work with all its chapters, on every Scan that publishes it.
  • We notify the Scan that published it and confirm by email once it is removed.
  • The work is blocked: no Scan can upload it again.

3. Publishers and full catalogs

If you represent a publisher or a rights holder with several works, you can request removal of your whole catalog at once (choose "A full catalog" on the form) or email [email protected] to set up a direct contact. We remove and block every work in the catalog.

4. Officially licensed works

We proactively remove works that have an official license in the language of the site as soon as we learn about it, even without a notice, and encourage readers to support the official edition.

5. Repeat infringers

A Scan that has 3 works removed for copyright within 12 months is suspended from the platform. Accounts of users who repeatedly infringe are also suspended.

6. Counter-notice

If your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to [email protected] with: identification of the removed material and its original URL, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the removal was a mistake, and your consent to the competent jurisdiction. If the original claimant does not file a legal action within a reasonable time, we may restore the content.

7. Abuse of process

Sending false or bad-faith notices can create legal liability (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)). Use this process only for legitimate copyright claims.
